When you draw a line straight from Stockholm (Sweden) to Oslo (Norway) you will find Hällefors in the middle, less than 100 km above Örebro. Långvästen, the former school, is situated on the edge of Hällefors. 
Here you will be endlessly inspired by the silence, the forests, the skies, the dark lakes, the depth of the landscapes, the colours and the beautiful light of Sweden’s central countryside. We notice that a month is often to short. Many of our guests return. Some also like to experience the landscape in another season. Not only the summer with its endless evenings (after a few hours of twilight it gets light again at 2.00h AM) is wonderful. The colours of autumn are indescribable in Sweden. Though it can be very cold during the winter (-25°C at night) the huge amount of snow (50cm possible) gives the environment a totally different look. Spring is very short: in one week the snow can be gone. Then nature awakes and everything seems to be blossoming at once. The studios of Långvästen are completely but sober furnished. They all have a bed. You only have to bring your own sleeping bag or blankets and pillow. A protecting cover for the mattress is obligatory. Also bring your own towels. You can also rent them at low costs. The studios are furnished to allow you to work and live agreeably. The larger studios have plenty of space for two people. The most studios don't have their own sanitary facilities, but you will find toilets and showers at various locations in the building. 
Långvästen offers the free use of a spacious, professional kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped. Next to the kitchen, there is a dining room for common use. It also has a central washing room, with a washing machine and a dryer. In the building there is wireless internet and even a few computers for common use. We try to keep our tariffs as low as possible. Therefore we expect from our guests cooperation in the cleaning of the building: your own studio and the common spaces. On payment we will clean up your studio at the end of your stay. We ask our visitors to separate the garbage conform the Swedish rules: paper, hardboard, glass, metal and plastic are collected separately. We heat our building with a central heating on pallets (squeezed sawdust). In this part of Sweden electricity is mainly hydro-electricity. So our building is just not entirely CO2 neutral! Don't fancy working for a change? Depending on the season you can enjoy swimming, (ice) fishing, hiking, biking, skating, cross-country skiing, and horse-riding. Less than 200 m away from the building runs a river; it’s part of a 200 km long canoe route. And 60 km away is a small but beautiful skiing area. You can make
